592 users on LagSciPrep. 950+ on Tutorial Haven. Together, we're on the verge of 1,500 users across two EdTech platforms. And I'm a 100-level student at UNILAG. Here's what that number actually means.
I don't normally talk about numbers. But this one hit different.
When I checked the analytics and saw LagSciPrep had crossed 592 users across 45 departments at UNILAG, I realized something important: we've moved past the phase where user count is the primary metric. We're now in the phase where retention, growth, and impact matter more.
The Quiet Milestone
What struck me about LagSciPrep crossing 500 users was how quietly it happened. When Tutorial Haven hit 500 students, it was a whole event. There was a countdown. Everyone knew. We celebrated.
But LagSciPrep? It quietly crossed 500 and kept going. I didn't even know when it happened. I just woke up one day and the number was already there.
That's actually kind of crazy to me — because LagSciPrep is newer. It's more focused (UNILAG science students only). It doesn't have the same marketing push as Tutorial Haven. But it grew anyway.
"The best growth is the kind that happens when you're not even watching."
What This Means for the Mission
Last year, I set a mission: to become the edtech giant in Nigeria.
People laughed. Some still do.
But the proof is there. Not in big funding rounds. Not in press coverage. In the numbers. In the students who show up every day to practice, to learn, to prepare.
592 users on LagSciPrep — my people, my campus, my courses. 950+ on Tutorial Haven — students across Nigeria preparing for JAMB, WAEC, NECO. Two platforms. Both EdTech. Both built in under two years. Both crossed 500 individually.
"I'm a 100-level student."
That's the part that still doesn't feel real sometimes.
The Shift — From Acquisition to Retention
Crossing these numbers means we've reached a point where the goal isn't just getting more users. It's making sure the users who are already here are actually being served well.
Retention matters more than acquisition now. Growth matters more than vanity metrics. Impact matters more than headlines.

To the Users — Thank You
To every single person on LagSciPrep — especially my people, Helix 29, the Cell Biology and Genetics gang — thank you. You didn't just use the platform. You believed in something I built with my own hands.
That means everything.
To the 950+ students on Tutorial Haven — you're trusting me with your exam preparation. That's not something I take lightly. Every feature, every update, every question in the bank is there because it helps you succeed.
"This is just the beginning. We are just getting started."
What's Next
We're on the verge of 1,500 users across two platforms. But the vision is much bigger than that. The vision is becoming the edtech giant in Nigeria — not by chasing numbers, but by serving students so well that the numbers take care of themselves.
More features. More subjects. more impact. More students succeeding in their exams because they had the right tools.
My name is Jephthah. I'm a developer, a founder, a 100-level student at UNILAG.
I build things. And apparently... they grow.
